Warranty & Product Support Policy

Last Updated: September 2025

At Duino Electronics, we are committed to supplying reliable electronic components, development boards, tools, 3D printers and other technology products.

Because many of the products we sell are sensitive electronic devices that can be permanently damaged by incorrect connection or operation, our warranty coverage is subject to the conditions described below.

1. Warranty Coverage

Where a warranty is applicable, it covers manufacturing defects only and does not cover damage resulting from incorrect installation, connection, operation, modification, misuse or external causes.

Our standard warranty periods are generally as follows:

Product Category                                                    Standard Warranty
Electronic Modules & Development Boards          6 Months
Electronic Tools & Equipment                                  6 Months

Other Products                                                             As specifically stated on the product page, invoice or quotation

The applicable warranty period for a particular product will be determined according to the warranty information provided with that product.

2. Electronic Components & Products Without Standard Warranty

Certain products are particularly susceptible to damage during installation or use and may not carry a standard warranty.

These may include:

ICs

This includes, but is not limited to:

AA / AAA rechargeable batteries
18650 batteries
Li-Ion batteries
Li-Po batteries
LiFePO4 batteries
Other rechargeable or non-rechargeable batteries

However, if a battery is found to be non-functional or defective shortly after purchase, Duino Electronics may consider a replacement or refund, subject to inspection and reasonable business practices.

4. Physical Damage

Any physical damage, missing parts or damage that is visible at the time of delivery should be reported to us within 3 days of receiving the product.

Examples include:

Broken PCBs
Cracked housings
Damaged connectors
Broken pins

6. Important Notice for Electronic Modules

Many electronic modules and development boards operate at specific voltage and signal levels.

For example, many ESP32, ESP8266 and Raspberry Pi products use 3.3V logic, while some Arduino-compatible modules operate at 5V logic.

Connecting a 5V signal directly to a 3.3V GPIO pin, without appropriate voltage-level conversion where required, can permanently damage the device.

Customers are responsible for checking the product’s voltage, current, polarity, pin configuration and operating requirements before connecting it to another device.

If you are unsure about compatibility, we strongly recommend contacting our technical team before powering or connecting the product.

7. Warranty Assessment

A warranty claim does not automatically mean that the product will be replaced.

When a product is reported as defective, our technical team may need to inspect and test the product to determine whether the problem is:

A manufacturing defect
or
Damage caused by installation, wiring, power supply, programming, modification or other external factors.

The final warranty decision will be based on the results of the technical inspection.

In some cases, we may request:

Order number or invoice number
Photographs of the product
Photographs showing the wiring/installation
Wiring diagram
Power-supply specifications
Test code or program
Video demonstrating the problem
Description of the application and problem encountered

These details help our technical team diagnose the problem before requesting the physical product.

8. How to Submit a Warranty Claim

Please contact Duino Electronics through our official customer support channel and provide the following information:

Invoice number or online order reference
Product name and quantity
Description of the problem
Clear photographs of the product
Photographs of the wiring/installation, if applicable
Wiring diagram, if applicable
Power-supply voltage/current details, if applicable
Test code or program, if applicable
Video showing the problem, if applicable
Customer contact details

Our technical team may first attempt to assist you remotely.

If the problem cannot be diagnosed remotely, we may request that the product be returned to us for inspection.

9. Product Inspection

Products returned under a warranty claim may be inspected and tested by our technical team.

The inspection may include:

Visual inspection
Electrical testing
Power-supply testing
Functional testing
Communication/interface testing
Testing with appropriate reference equipment
Testing using manufacturer-recommended procedures

If the product is found to have a manufacturing defect, the applicable remedy will be provided in accordance with the applicable warranty terms and consumer protection requirements.

If the product is found to be working correctly, or the failure is determined to have resulted from misuse or other excluded circumstances, the warranty claim may be rejected.

10. Replacement, Repair or Refund

Where a genuine manufacturing defect is confirmed, Duino Electronics may, depending on the product and circumstances:

Repair the product;
Replace the product with the same or an equivalent product; or
Provide another appropriate remedy where applicable.

The remedy will depend on product availability, the nature of the defect and the applicable warranty and consumer protection requirements.

11. Transportation & Courier Charges

Customers may be required to arrange and pay for the transportation of products to Duino Electronics for warranty inspection.

Where a product is approved for replacement or repair, the applicable return transportation arrangements will be communicated to the customer.

Transportation and courier arrangements may vary depending on the product, location and circumstances of the warranty claim.

12. Warranty Does Not Cover Consequential Losses

The warranty applies to the product itself and does not automatically cover losses or expenses resulting from the failure of the product, including:

Labour charges
Installation or removal costs
Project development costs
Loss of production
Loss of business
Loss of data
Damage to other equipment
Other indirect or consequential losses

This provision is subject to any rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Sri Lankan law.

13. Customer Responsibility

Before purchasing or using a product, customers should ensure that the product is suitable for their intended application.

For electronic and development products, customers should verify:

Operating voltage
Maximum current
Polarity
Logic voltage
Pin configuration
Communication protocol
Load requirements
Environmental conditions
Compatibility with other connected devices

If you are unsure whether a particular product is suitable for your project, please contact our technical team before purchasing or powering the product.

14. Extended Warranty / Additional Protection

Where an extended warranty or additional protection plan is specifically offered for a product, it will be available only according to the terms and conditions stated for that product.

Any additional payment for an extended warranty provides additional coverage beyond the applicable standard warranty, where such an option is offered. It does not remove or replace any mandatory consumer rights applicable to the original purchase.

The specific coverage, duration, exclusions and price of any extended warranty will be clearly communicated to the customer before purchase.

15. Important Notice

Electronic components and modules can be permanently damaged within seconds if connected incorrectly.

Please do not power a product if you are unsure about its wiring, voltage, polarity or compatibility.

If you need assistance, contact Duino Electronics before connecting the product. Our technical team can help you verify the appropriate connection and operating requirements.

Your safety and the protection of your equipment are our priority.
