MQ-5 sensor introduction:

The gas sensitive material used by the MQ-5 gas sensor is two tin oxide (SnO2) with low conductivity in clean air. When combustible gases exist in the environment of the sensor, the conductivity of the sensor increases with the increase of the concentration of combustible gas in the air. A simple circuit can be used to convert the change of electrical conductivity into an output signal corresponding to the concentration of the gas. The MQ-5 gas sensor has high sensitivity to butane, propane and methane, and can give a good consideration to methane and propane. This sensor can detect a variety of flammable gases, especially natural gas, and is a low cost sensor suitable for many applications.
